Investment Accounting Controller – Real Estate:

Job Description:

​

As an Investment Accounting controller, you will be responsible for:

​

• The financial reporting of legal entities investing in a wide range of real estate assets;

• Developing an in-depth understanding of these entities, including their investments, business strategies, and associated technical and management accounting requirements.

• The monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for these entities (under UKGAAP / USGAAP);

• Review and control of monthly and annual local GAAP financial reporting prepared by external accounting partners across Europe;

• Manage the takedown of new investments and develop processes with external partners to ensure timely receipt of accurate accounting and management reporting information;

• Provide oversight of external accounting partners to assure adherence with local obligations such as tax, regulatory and statutory audits;

• Preparation of these entities financial statements (under UKGAAP / IFRS);

• Resolving technical accounting issues;

• Preparing disclosure requirements;

• Working with the external auditors;

• Dealing with ad hoc queries about your legal entities from other teams and management;

• Keeping up-to-date with industry / market developments which could affect your entities and communicating this to key stakeholders;

• Liaising with numerous teams across the globe on project work and to resolve issues / queries;

• Identifying efficiencies to improve processes;

• Appreciate Regulatory developments / changes and how these can affect your entities;

 

Experience:

​

• Qualified Accountant – ACA or Equivalent;

• Good technical accounting knowledge;

• Experience of preparing audited accounts under UK GAAP or IFRS is an added bonus!

• Strong computing skills;

• Ability to manipulate large data sets

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal);

• Self-motivated.

• Functional Expertise;

 

Languages: English. Proficiency in a European language (particularly Spanish, Italian or French) is highly desirable.
