Genesis IT & Telecom are currently looking for several Data Scientist for a well-known business gaming company in Malta. The company is under doing a large growth phase due to the increase in their business and now are looking for a Data Scientist to work on initiatives to optimise the business and form part of the Data Science team. Main duties and responsibilities:

​

• Contribute to the data science vision and strategy and organise sessions with the team explaining your work. 

• Work with verticals outside of the data team such as CRM, Casino, Sportsbook, Poker and come up with effective ways to get better results with predictive analytics.

• Collaborate with other verticals of the data team to deliver the use case at scale. 

• Assist in contributing to the development of our Big Data platform. 

• Deal with adhoc scenarios where analytics will help the business understand insights. 

• Create POCs using notebooks such as Jupyter and Zeppelin. 

• Promote using machine learning and educate your peers on why one model or algorithm works better for a scenario.

• Willing to learn and contribute to the architectural blueprint which is a contribution from all verticals in the data team to come up with standards for reusability. 

• Guide peers to build intelligent algorithms that transform and improve our business.

• Embrace and introduce best practices to deliver data science at scale.

• Be at the front line of technology together with your peers and other verticals of the team and also introduce or suggest new technologies. 

• Having the will to learn new technologies that will help you be more effective.

• Knowhow of programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, SQL, Java.

 

Required for this role:

​

• 2+ years’ experience in data science / AI

• Excellent communications skills 

• Ability to communicate complex statistical or machine learning concept and methodologies to all the team 

• Great presenter, ability to sell the AI and data science strategy and its initiatives

• Experience and knowhow with Big Data and Hadoop

• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
