Genesis IT & Telecom are currently looking for a number of contract and permanent Database Reliability Engineers for a Multi-platform database service provider based in Naarden, North Holland. The company is going through a growth phase due to the increase in their business and now are looking to expand their Database teams you’ll be expected to move flexibly within these rapidly changing environments, know what the bottlenecks are within databases, and provide advice in line with the intended goals.  

I have included some information about the role below:-

The Role Itself:

​

• Running QuickScans on various DBMS platforms

• Management and monitoring onsite and remote of database environments

• Consultancy issues from design to implementation and performance

• 1-day tuning

• Set up new (open source) database environments in test or production

• Migration from Oracle / MS SQL Server to open source DBMS

• Moving to the cloud of database infrastructure or parts of it

• Advice end customers about possibilities open source databases and tooling

• When DevOps operate in complex innovative development environments

• CI / CD trajectories in (open source) hybrid database infrastructures in the cloud

Ideal Experience:

​

 

• You have a Bachelor degree or equivalent experience as a Database engineer.

• Experience in the following, Python, SQL,Linux,Docker,PostgreSQL

• Team player, flexible and dynamic.

• In addition to a good analytical insight, you have a hands-on mentality.

• You are critical and pragmatic.

• You are eager to learn and actively share your knowledge.

Experience with the following technologies / tools is a plus:
 

• Azure 

• Oracle

• MongoDB

• Sybase
