JOB PURPOSE
​
The Senior Programmer provides programming and technical support according to The company (and/or Sponsor) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ICH-GCP and Scope of Work, from eCRF design to database lock within the agreed project timelines.
Will act as point of contact for both internal and external customers for all programming issues for allocated studies.
If applicable, will be responsible for the line management of assigned staff, including mentoring and training.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES

1. Support department head and Principal Programmer in the review and update of SOPs and lead process improvement initiatives.
2. Provide in-house training and mentoring for colleagues.
3. Provide programming and technical support to studies from eCRF design to database lock within agreed project timelines.
4. Provide solutions to issues that arise during the conduct and analysis of the study.
5. Act as point of contact for both internal and external customers for all programming tasks and issues for allocated studies.
6. Develop data transfer plans for 3rd party data, specification documents, annotated CRFs and other supportive study documentation.
7. Build eCRF screens and write validation checks within the EDC system.
8. Manage the extraction of data from the EDC system.
9. Create SAS programs to:
• Manipulate data extracted from the EDC system into the standard format SAS datasets
• Program checks, reports and listings
• Load electronic 3rd party data into SAS
10. Support coding using industry dictionaries.
